Launch of ASDA Carrier Bag Community Awards (Wales)

Retailers in Wales are required to charge customers 5p for a single-use carrier bag. ASDA has decided to use this money to support good causes that benefit the local community in areas where its stores are located.  

        

Not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants of up to £2,000 for projects in the following areas:  

• Children and young people.
• Older people.
• Health.
• Community cohesion.

The grants can help meet a wide range of costs for community groups, including equipment, materials and local community activities and events. 

The deadline for applications is 30 September 2015.
